Import and daily updates

Plans Free, Pro, Agency

This page explains what happens to your data after you connect Search Console, and why the newest days can look low.

The first import

  • When you connect, KeptSEO imports the whole history Google still holds for each site, up to 16 months of web search data.
  • It starts straight away, in the background. You do not need to keep the page open.
  • A typical site takes about a minute. Very large sites take longer.
  • On the sites page each site shows Importing, then Ready. The overall trend appears first; the queries and pages tables can fill in slightly later.
  • If a site shows Import failed, choose Connect Search Console again. That restarts the import for sites that failed.

Daily updates

  • After the import, each site gets one update a day.
  • Google finishes counting a day about 3 days late. Until then the newest days are preliminary: they look lower than they will end up, and the chart draws them hatched. See Preliminary data.
  • The sites page only uses final days, so its 28-day figures end a few days before today. The site dashboard header shows the last final day.

Why we keep it

Google only shows 16 months. Each daily update adds to what KeptSEO already holds, so your history keeps growing past that limit. Free shows the latest 16 months; Pro shows everything stored. See Plans and limits.

If access is lost

If Google stops accepting the connection, for example because you removed KeptSEO’s access in your Google account, the connection shows Needs reconnect in Settings. Choose Reconnect to restore it. See Account and settings.

Disconnecting

Disconnecting Google stops all new imports for the sites that connection can see. Data already saved stays until our 30-day purge, and reconnecting before then brings your sites back.
