Getting started

Plans Free, Pro, Agency

KeptSEO keeps your Google Search Console history, which Google itself deletes after 16 months, and shows it in a fast dashboard. Setting up takes a few minutes.

1. Sign in

  1. Open the app and choose Continue with Google, or type your email and choose Email me a sign-in link. The link expires after 10 minutes.
  2. If you are already signed in, you go straight to your sites.

Signing in only identifies you. KeptSEO cannot see your Search Console data until you connect it in the next step.

2. Connect Search Console

  1. On the sites page, choose Connect Search Console. A new account shows “No sites yet” until you do.
  2. Google asks you to approve read-only access to Search Console. KeptSEO never changes anything in your account.
  3. You come back to KeptSEO with a message such as “Connected 3 sites”. Every site your Google login can see in Search Console is added. If the connection fails or you cancel at Google, you see a message and can try again.

Your plan limits how many sites are active at once (Free: 2). If you connect more, the first ones become active and the rest are Saved: KeptSEO keeps importing their history in the background, and you can swap which sites are active in Settings. Nothing is deleted. See Plans and limits.

3. Wait for the import

KeptSEO imports all the history Google still holds for each site, up to 16 months. This usually takes about a minute per site, and longer for very large sites. The site’s row says Importing and changes to Ready when it finishes. You can open a site while it imports; numbers appear as soon as the first data arrives. The queries and pages tables can fill in a little after the chart. See Import and daily updates.

4. Read your dashboard

Click a site to open it. The page starts on the last 28 days compared with the previous period.

  • The number cards show clicks, impressions, CTR and average position, with their change.
  • The performance chart shows the trend over time.
  • The queries and pages table shows what is behind the change. Click a row to filter the whole page to it.
  • Change the date range and the comparison above the numbers.
  • The other tabs list every query and page, and break traffic down by country and device.

Every day after that

KeptSEO adds new data once a day. Google finishes counting about 3 days late, so the newest days look lower and are marked as preliminary. This is not a drop in traffic. See Preliminary data.
