Performance chart
Plans Free, Pro
The performance chart sits under the number cards on the Overview tab. It shows how your site did in search over the dates you picked. Each metric you switch on (with the number cards) gets its own small chart, stacked one above the other. They share the same dates along the bottom, so you can see how clicks, impressions, CTR and position moved together.

How to read it
- The thick solid line is the 7-day average. It smooths out weekends so trends are easy to see.
- The thin faint line behind it is the real value for each day.
- The dashed line is the comparison period (the previous period, or the same dates last year). It uses the same colour as its metric, but lighter.
- The hatched area on the right is recent days that Google has not finished counting. See Preliminary data.
- The line under the chart title repeats what is being compared, for example “Jul 10 to Oct 7, 2026 vs Jul 10 to Oct 7, 2025 · Daily · 7-day average”.
Hover for details. Move your pointer over the chart. A thin line follows it and snaps to the nearest day (or week). A card shows each metric’s value there and the value for the matching point in the comparison, with the change. Green means better and red means worse.
Day or week. The chart picks the detail for you. The 7D, 28D and 3M ranges show days. Longer ranges (6M, 12M and 16M) show weeks, and the line under the title says which. The 7-day average only exists at daily detail. The first six days of a range average fewer than seven days, because the chart does not look before the first day you picked.
Why separate charts, not one with two scales? Clicks and impressions are very different sizes. Putting them on one chart with two vertical scales makes unrelated lines look connected. Each metric has its own scale instead.
Average position runs upside down. Position 1 is at the top, so a line going up means you ranked better.
