Lifecycle tabs (Growing, Decaying, New, Lost)
Plans Free, Pro
On the Queries and Pages tabs, a row of tabs sits under the table title: All, Growing, Decaying, New, Lost, each with a count. They compare the date range you chose with the comparison period, so they need a comparison (with comparison Off the tabs other than All are greyed out).
- Growing: clicks went up by at least 2, and the row had 100 or more impressions in either period (so a jump from 1 to 3 clicks on a rarely shown query does not count).
- Decaying: the same, for clicks that went down.
- New: impressions now and none on any earlier day stored for the site (a query or page new to the site). This is the same rule as the New queries count on the Overview’s query counting card, so the two always agree.
- Lost: impressions in the comparison period, none now. Lost rows show 0 now and the change tells you what you lost.
- All: everything with impressions in the range.
A row can sit in two tabs: a new query that is already getting clicks is also Growing, a lost one is also Decaying. Each tab opens in a useful order: Growing by biggest gain, Decaying and Lost by biggest loss, New by clicks. The tab stays in the address bar (lc), and the CSV export follows the tab you are on.
