Connecting more accounts and sites

Your sites can live in more than one Google account. KeptSEO can connect as many as you need. Everything here starts in Settings → Connections, and the result always shows in that card, next to the account it is about.

Add another Google account

1. Open Settings → Connections. On the Sites page you can also use Add another Google account at the top.
2. Click Add another Google account.
3. Google asks which account to use. Pick the other account, or choose Use another account to sign in to it.
4. Approve read-only access. You come back to Settings → Connections, and a banner says what happened, for example “Added another Google account: 5 new sites.”

Get a site into an account that’s already connected

You don’t need to connect a new account to add a site. You can give an account you already connected access to it:

• Search Console: in Search Console, open the site, then Settings → Users and permissions → Add user. Add the Google account you connected to KeptSEO.

New sites appear in KeptSEO within a day. To see them now, click Check for site changes in Settings → Connections.

Reconnecting

An account stops working when its access is revoked or expires. For example, someone removed KeptSEO in their Google account, or changed the password. New data stops, but your history is safe. You’ll see it:

• on the Sites page, as a Needs reconnecting marker on each affected site and a banner such as “2 sites lost Google access: example.com, shop.example.com”, with a Reconnect button;
• at the top of each affected site’s dashboard;
• in Settings → Connections, where the account is marked Needs reconnect;
• in an email that names the account and up to five of its sites, with a link straight to that account.

Click Reconnect and sign in as the same account. The right Google account is already selected. If you sign in with a different account, KeptSEO adds that account and tells you the first one still needs reconnecting.

Only the person who connected an account can reconnect it. Everyone else sees “Ask to reconnect”.

What each banner means

Banner	What happened	What to do
Connected 12 sites. Importing history now.	Your first account of this kind is connected.	Nothing. History imports in the background.
Added another Google account: 5 new sites.	A new account was added and brought new sites.	Nothing.
Added another Google account: no new sites.	The new account sees only sites you already have.	Nothing, or add the site to the account (see above).
Reconnected ada@example.com — example.com is syncing again.	The broken account works again.	Nothing.
That Google account was already connected. Nothing changed.	You signed in with an account that was already connected.	To add a different one, sign in with it first.
That was a different account.	Reconnect was used, but another account signed in. The broken one still needs reconnecting.	Sign in with the account named in the banner, then Try again.
Connected, but this account has no sites we can see yet.	The account has no sites in Search Console.	Add the site to the account (see above) or use the account that owns it, then Check for site changes.
Search Console didn’t connect.	The sign-in was canceled, took too long or failed.	Try again.

Banners can be dismissed with ×. They show once and don’t come back when you reload the page.
