Content groups
Plans Pro
A content group is a named set of pages: “Tents”, “Jackets”, “Blog”. You define it with rules about the page URL, then see how the whole section is doing.
Make a group. Open the Groups tab, choose New group, name it and add rules. A page is in the group when any rule matches (rules ignore upper and lower case):
- URL contains looks anywhere in the URL, for example
/tents/. - Path starts with looks at the part after the domain, for example
/tents/(or start withhttps://to match the full URL).
A page can be in several groups. Groups never change your data; they only label pages.
The table. The Groups tab shows pages, clicks, impressions, CTR and position for each group, with the change against your comparison period. “Other pages” are pages in no group. Because groups can overlap, the rows can add up to more than your total. Click a group name to open the Pages tab for it.
Filter by group. A Group menu above the numbers narrows the Overview, Queries and Pages tabs to that group’s pages. On Queries it reads page-and-query data, which we keep for 90 days (a note says so). Countries & devices ignore it.
Limits. Up to 25 groups per site, 10 rules per group, names to 60 characters, rule values to 200 characters with no spaces. Regular expressions are not supported yet. Owners, admins and members can edit groups; a change can be undone for 30 days from the line that appears after saving.
Plans. Pro and Agency. Free sees a short note about Pro on the Groups tab.
